Project Updates
September 4, 2024: Utility relocation is in progress at the intersection of Hunt Club Rd. and Washington St. The North Shore Gas relocation is expected to be completed by the end of August, and the ComEd, Comcast and AT&T relocation is anticipated to be completed by the end of October, allowing for construction at the intersection to begin. Water main and storm sewer construction is expected to start in October/November while this entire project will carry over into 2025.
The improvement will address overall safety and traffic operations by adding dual left-turn lanes and a right-turn lane on all legs of the intersection. The intersection will feature crosswalks with sidewalk ramps designed to ADA standards, and additional stormwater detention and conveyance systems will be installed to address drainage issues.
As part of this project, the bike path gap just east of the intersection will be completed and a new path will be installed from Washington St. north to Dada Dr. as shown on this map. Learn more about the Lake County Division of Transportation project by clicking here.
