Project Description
The Village's contractor, Campanella & Sons, Inc., will be replacing the water main, hydrants, and valve vaults on First St. and Delany Rd. from Blackstone Ave. to Bennett Ave.; Stoney Island Ave.; Lake Park Ave.; and Bennett Ave. from First St. to Delany Rd. 

Project Updates

September 17, 2025: The Village's contractor, Campanella & Sons, is anticipated to complete this project by mid-September. The remaining work includes residential service connections, drainage improvements, and final restoration. Once finished, Peter Baker & Sons will begin resurfacing the roads in this area.

August 14, 2025: The Village's contractor, Campanella & Sons, experienced delays following the July 11th water main break that damaged the sanitary main and flushed stone and debris into it. This blockage affected two residential services, causing backups in some homes. The Village restored service to both affected properties, and the contractor worked overtime to bring them back online, further delaying the project. This week, Campanella completed pressure testing of the main and will begin chlorination on Monday. Once the chlorination test passes, water service connections to all residential properties will be switched over to the new main.

July 16, 2025: The Village's contractor, Campanella and Sons, has resumed installation of the new water main along Delany Road and First Street. A break occurred on the existing water main on Friday, which was repaired that evening by Campanella. This break resulted in excess water entering the sanitary system, causing sewer backups for some residents.

July 2, 2025: The Village's contractor, Campanella and Sons, has begun installation of the new water main along Delany Road and First Street. A minor delay occurred while locating existing sanitary service lines, but the issue has been resolved with the assistance of a third-party contractor that successfully identified all service connections.

June 13, 2025: The Village's contractor, Campanella and Sons, has begun installing the new watermain along Delany Rd. and First St. Lane and driveway closures as well as temporary water main shutdowns should be expected.
