Project Description

This project will consist of the reconstruction of Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) road section including pavement removal, pavement milling, removal and disposal of unsuitable material, aggregate base repairs, HMA binder and surface course, driveway R&R, drainage improvements, landscaping, and other associated items.

Project Updates

October 7, 2022: The Village's contractor, Campanella and Sons Construction has finished asphalt binder placement on all streets. They are also nearing the completion of grading and shaping ditches, which will be followed by restoration. Crews anticipate to place a final surface layer during the next two weeks. As this project continues, the public should expect narrow lanes and lane closures on roads specified, sidewalk closures, temporary driveway access closures, and side street closures.

September 23, 2022: Last week, the Village's contractor, Campanella and Sons Construction, completed the sub surface repairs and drainage improvements on Elm Road and Frontage Road. This week, the contractor has been working to complete sub base repairs and improve the drainage on Keith Avenue before placing the binder. The final resurfacing is scheduled to take place late next week. As this project continues, the public should expect narrow lanes and lane closures on roads specified, sidewalk closures, temporary driveway access closures, and side street closures.

September 8, 2022: Last week, Campanella and Sons Construction completed the subsurface asphalt and drainage improvements on Oglesby Ave., Delany Rd., and South First St. Currently, the contractor is working on milling, sub base repairs, and drainage improvements on Elm Rd. and Frontage Rd. before placing the subsurface asphalt. Once completed, the contractor will put down the final surface and perform restoration on those streets. Keith Ave. will be the last remaining road for this year’s reconstruction program. As the project continues, the public should expect narrow lanes and lane closures on roads specified, sidewalk closures, temporary driveway access closures, and side street closures.

August 19, 2022: The Street Reconstruction Program includes the reconstruction of Keith Ave., Frontage Rd. (Washington St.), First St. (South of Washington), Oglesby Ave., Elm Rd. (East of Birch), S Delany Rd. (South of Washington. The Village's contractor, Campanella and Sons, has completed milling Oglesby, Delany, and South First Street. The contractor will look to complete the sub base repairs and improve the drainage before placing down final surface. As this project continues, the public should expect lane, sidewalk, and temporary driveway closures as well as side street closures. This projected is expected to be completed by the end of October.

June 29, 2022: The Street Reconstruction Program is anticipated to begin towards the end of July and includes the rehabilitation of approximately 1.2 miles of Village roadways. The project includes the reconstruction of Keith Ave., Frontage Rd. (Washington St.), First St. (South of Washington), Oglesby Ave., Elm Rd. (East of Birch), S Delany Rd. (South of Washington. As this project continues, the public should expect lane, sidewalk, and temporary driveway closures as well as side street closures. This projected is expected to be completed by the end of October.
