Project Updates

July 31, 2024: The Village’s sidewalk replacement program continues in Zone 5 (generally located east of IL Route 21). The sidewalk removals, framing and pouring of new concrete is currently in progress and is anticipated to be completed soon. If residents still have traffic control barriers, debris, stone, or dirt left on their property, they should notify Public Works at 847-599-6800. The contractor should be completed with this project in August before school starts.

July 5, 2024: The Village’s sidewalk replacement program has begun in Zone 5, which is generally located east of IL Rte. 21. Residents whose driveways are impacted by the project will receive door hangers prior to construction indicating the dates when the work is expected to be completed. Pink spray paint is used to identify locations of sidewalk removal. Once the sidewalk squares are removed, they are framed and then concrete is poured. These steps typically take place over several days. Once concrete is poured, it then must cure before driving or walking on the concrete. Once curing is complete, the barricades will be removed and the adjacent areas restored. Driveway restorations include a small patch adjacent to the new sidewalk. Parkway restorations will receive topsoil and seed. Residents can notify the Police Department if they must park on the street during this project. If you have any questions or concerns about this project, please contact the Public Works Department at 847-599-6800.
