Contractor Requirements

These five contractors must be registered with the Building Department prior to the release of a permit.
Electrician - copy of current electrical license with a reciprocating municipality and a certificate of insurance with minimum general liability of $500,000, listing the Village as Certificate Holder. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE NAME ISSUED ON THE ELECTRICAL LICENSE MUST BE THE SAME AS ON THE INSURANCE (i.e. license cannot be to Brian Smith and insurance under Smith Electric).
Low Voltage Electrician - a certificate of insurance with minimum general liability of $500,000, listing the Village as Certificate Holder.
Plumber - copy of current plumbing license with either City of Chicago or State of Illinois; and a copy of the current IDPH Plumbing Contractor's Registration. Must provide a written letter of intent on plumbing contractor’s letterhead, stating the address of the job and complete scope of work, signed by the plumber of record, and must be notarized or contain their corporate seal.
HVAC - a certificate of insurance with minimum general liability of $500,000, listing the Village as Certificate Holder.
Roofer - copy of current roofing license with the State of
Contractors working in the Public Right-of-Way, on streets, or water / sewer lines must register with the Engineering Department prior to the release of a permit and submit the following:
Certificate of Insurance (listing the Village as Certificate Holder and as additional insured) with coverage detailed below:
Under General Liability:
Each Occurrence $1,000,000
General Aggregate $2,000,000
Under Workers Comp:
Each Accident $ 500,000
License and/or Permit Bond : $ 10,000
