Ethics Commission
It is the goal of the Village to guarantee fair, efficient and honest government and to ensure the integrity and objectivity of its officers and employees. To assist in achieving this goal, on November 7, 2005, the Village enacted a comprehensive Ethics Ordinance (Ordinance No. 2005-97) which included provisions to regulate political activities, solicitation and acceptance of gifts, conflicts of interests and the establishment of an Ethics Commission. The Ethics Commission has three appointed Commissioners and independent counsel to assist in matters referred to the Commission. The Commission has the authority to receive written complaints, investigate, conduct hearings and impose fines and/or refer matters to other appropriate authorities. If you wish to contact the Ethics Commission, you may do so online via the Village of Gurnee Comments page.
